چکیده

We analyze the photon-initiated processes for production of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ pairs in proton-nucleus collisions at LHC energy, taking into account both elastic and proton dissociations low-mass region (LMR) intermediate-mass (IMR) as defined by ALICE collaboration. The calculations are performed within ${k}_{\mathrm{T}}$-factorization approach, including transverse momenta intermediate photons. discuss several differential distributions invariant mass leptons ${M}_{ll}$, pair rapidity ${Y}_{ll}$ lepton ${p}_{t,ll}$. In addition, we present two-dimensional ${\mathrm{log}}_{10}{x}_{Bj}$ ${\mathrm{log}}_{10}{Q}^{2}$ (${\mathrm{log}}_{10}W,{\mathrm{log}}_{10}{Q}^{2}$) arguments deep-inelastic structure functions. All presented results were obtained with modern parametrizations Limiting to small masses dielectrons one tests functions nonperturbative ${Q}^{2}$ and/or $W$. quantify difference different from literature. estimate gap survival factor experimental possibilities.

Dirac Magnetic Monopole Production from Photon Fusion in Proton Collisions

We calculate the lowest order cross–section for Dirac magnetic monopole production from photon fusion (γγ) in pp̄ collisions at √ s = 1.96 TeV, pp collisions at √ s = 14 TeV, and we compare γγ with Drell–Yan (DY) production. We find the total γγ cross–section is comparable with DY at √ s = 1.96 TeV and dominates DY by a factor > ∼ 50 at √ s = 14 TeV. We conclude that both the γγ and DY processes...

Heavy quark production in photon-nucleon and photon-photon collisions

We discuss several mechanisms of heavy quark production in (real) photon-nucleon and (real) photon (real) photon collisions. In particular we focuse on application of the Saturation Model. We discuss how to generalize the formula from virtual photon proton scattering and analyze threshold effects. We discuss a possibility to measure the cross section for γγ → 2c2c̄. In addition to the main dipol...

Photon production in high energy proton-nucleus collisions

We calculate the photon production cross-section in pA collisions under the assumption that the nucleus has reached the saturation regime, while the proton can be described by the standard parton distribution functions. We show that due to the strong classical field O(1/g) of the nucleus, bremsstrahlung diagrams become dominant over the direct photon diagrams. In particular, we show that γ−jet ...

Photon + Hadron Production in High Energy Deuteron (Proton)-Nucleus Collisions

We apply the Color Glass Condensate formalism to photon + hadron production cross section in high energy deuteron (proton)-gold collisions at RHIC. We investigate the dependence of the production cross section on the angle between the produced hadron and photon for various rapidities and transverse momenta. It is shown that the angular correlation between the produced hadron and photon is a sen...
